J'ai serré les vis trop fort (les doigts pleins de sueur, la pression…), et j'ai bousillé quelque chose. Heureusement, rien de trop grave. Mais ça m'a rappelé pourquoi je préfère payer quelqu'un pour faire les trucs compliqués. Donc, prends ton temps. Lis plusieurs fois les "conseils" (qui sont plus des avertissements). Et si tu doutes… demande de l'aide !
Ça s'adapte à tous les volants ?
Alors, là, c'est le détail crucial. Il est fait pour les volants… avec un PCD de 70mm. C'est quoi, un PCD ? C'est la distance entre les trous des vis, en millimètres. (Oui, moi non plus, je ne savais pas avant). Donc, il faut que ton volant (celui que tu veux mettre à la place de l'original) ait un PCD de 70mm. C'est *généralement* le cas pour les volants de course, mais vérifie quand même ! Ne fais pas la même erreur que moi, et ne te retrouve pas avec un truc que tu ne peux pas utiliser. Ce serait un peu… ballot.
Il y a aussi les volants qui vibrent, qui ont des boutons partout… Je crois que ça dépend du modèle. J'ai pas encore tout testé. Ce truc reste un peu obscur pour moi, c'est le genre de chose qui fait que je dois me concentrer sur la route et ne pas toucher le bouton d' "Ejection" !
Est-ce que ça affecte le retour de force ?
Alors… oui et non. (Encore !) En théorie, ça ne devrait pas l'affecter. C’est juste un intermédiaire mécanique, quoi. Mais dans *mon* expérience personnelle, j'ai eu l'impression… oui, j'insiste sur le "impression"… que le retour de force était un peu moins puissant. Peut-être que c'est moi qui suis devenu plus douillet, ou que j'ai mal serré un truc (encore ?). Je suis toujours dans la phase d’essais, OK ?
Après, on parle du G29. C’est pas le truc le plus puissant du monde. Donc, si tu cherches un retour de force digne d’une Formule 1, il faudra peut-être investir dans un direct drive, mais là, on change de budget et on devient un peu fou. Mais oui, ça reste fun, même avec quelques petits ajustements.
Le volant est-il de bonne qualité ?
Ce n'est pas LE détail. En fait, cet adaptateur est de bonne qualité, hein. C'est pas du plastique cheap qui va se casser au bout de trois tours. Il est solide. Il est bien fait. Et même si tu rates l'installation (comme moi), il tiendra le coup. Ceci dit : achète un volant de bonne qualité. Tu vas débourser pas mal d'argent, autant que ce soit un truc sérieux. En plus, tu verras que c'est le volant qui fait le plus gros du boulot, pas un adaptateur.
Après, faut voir ce que tu appelles "bonne qualité". Si tu compares ça à un volant de F1… ça sera un peu en dessous, forcément. Mais pour le prix, c'est top. Ah, et il est compatible avec une bonne série de volants. Et ça, c'est cool.
